BIOLOGY/ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE:
The expectations i had for this year in biology were that it was gonna be something hard for me understand and learn about because of that fact that it was my very first time taking a biology class. I feel like my perspective of what it is to be a scientist don't change at all this year but my thinking was challenged by the topics we were learning about, for example when we started to learn about flowers it was really complicated for me to follow along because i had never done something like it. As time went by i stated to learn many things and facts about plants and how they work. Something that really was no understandable in my brain was when it came to talking about cells. And all of the different type of cells there are and how they all function.
The way i feel like i have evolved as a scientist this semester was by actually giving myself time to observe something completely rather than just a quick look and without thinking about it. For example when we went to balboa park i remember there was an specific work that we were doing and it was looking for something a picture that had nature in it and drawing it in our composition notebooks. I remember picking. It was honestly one of the hardest things for me to do. I finally picked a plant but this plant had rocks and weird things on it. When it came to drawing it i did terrible but msr. Nuvia came a kind explained to me a better and more easy and efficient way of doing the drawing, and it was by observing by taking my time to look at the whole picture. That's how i feel i've evolved because know when i am looking at something i take more time to analyze what i am seeing.
