What my growth mindset project was about, it was for me to learn how to use a skateboard, I was basically just trying to learn the basics steps of how the basics of skateboarding worked. The first couple of tries were a bit hard because I kept on falling, but as I kept on practicing and towards the end, I was able to ride the board for a longer amount of time. The reason I wanted to choose this topic was that I've always thought that it is something really cool and I've had a skateboard almost my whole life so I taught to myself we just have it and not know how to use it. The impact that the growth mindset project had on me was that lethargy if you fall keep getting up because you will eventually get what you are trying to fight for.
I didn't necessarily keep on trying but I just spend more time than before to try and used the skateboard when I am feeling bored and when my cousin was around I let them used it and I did as well for a bit. I just kept doing it because I really liked it the first time I tried using it. The way that the projected growth mindset project was applicable to math was just the fact that practicing math is one of the hardest things that there are and the project that I did which was trying to learn how to skate has really hard for me to get the first steps on me but that was the main point if this project to learn something new .
One of the best projects that we did this years that I thought was really fun was the around the king Arthur table, the reason I thought this was because I thought it was really cool how towards the end we all did it as a class and also because it was more hands-on project where we were really active and I like that. The hardest part of this content for me was recognizing the power and value of each exponent and how some of the formulas were solved but at the end my favorite part of this was that I was able to understand and asked questions if i needed.
I feel like the thing that actually made me grow this year, in general, was just the fact that I was able to do was just the fact that I could always try my best to get something done and knowing with myself that if something is not working out than I at least gave it my best.
The math class that I am thinking about taking next year is pre-algebra because it's something that I really struggle with throughout the year but I was also able to learn some of it and it m a bit more familiar with this class but at the same time it will also challenge me.
I feel like I was a bit successful this year but towards the end i started to slack off because I wasn't turning some of my work in and it was mostly group work that we didn't get done but something that I can do for next year is keep reminders in my phone every once in awhile so that I can get notification of what I need to work on and when I need to get it done.
