Problem Statement:
For the flagpole problem we had to get a new flagpole for the HTHCV high school but in order to get permission to have this we needed to have the exact height we wanted for the flagpole because there were certain requirements.

Process and Solution:
Just by looking at the flagpole my initial guess was that it was going to be between 20 and 25 ft.How i came up with this was by thinking of me, how many mes can be in order to get to the top of the pole. My guess was between 3-4.In my own words i think that similarity is just pretty much just determining if two figures are similar.

Shadow method:
The method was used to measure the height of a flagpole. For example measure the shadow of the flagpole, then hold a stick vertically nearby, and measure the shadow that the stick casts. If the stick is vertical we have a pair of right angles. If we have an object that is parallel we can set up a proportion and find the needed height, x. We were able to get two similar triangles by having one and than looking at the shadow of the same one, once we had the shadow we would measure for example the distance between the first point and the height of the shadow triangle. Also we looked at the shadow of objects to measure theme for example we looked at the flagpole shadow and from there we measured the distance between the actual pole and the shadow. Our group's idea was to look at the measurements that were necessary and we decided to calculate every single height of us in inches. The group's final estimated height was 41 FT. which is the same as 12 Meters.

Mirror method:
In order to be able to form two triangle with this method you have to find an object and put a mirror on the floor by a few feet away from the object and you away from the mirror with the same amount of feet the mirror is from the object. Our group's process was to first find all the things in common like for example the angles were all right angles they had 90 degree angles also all the angles in the mirror were equal also the angle angle theorem pretty much would work the best with this mirror method. The best way to find the calculations that worked for us best were for example setting up a proportion like 60 over x = 33 over 142 and by solving that we would get x= 21.5 feet.

Clinometer method:
In order to be able to find the height of an object you would have to set yourself up and look through the straw and adjust yourself at a 45 degree angle, if you weren't able to see you either cut back or forward. Isosceles triangles are just pretty much just having to sides with equal lengths. My group and i first drew a diagram to represent the right angle isosceles triangle and then we labeled the distance from us to the base of the object, we also labeled the unknown height of the object and the missing angle measures in the angle. If we had the angles for one side of the triangle we had to have the same length is the other angle of the triangle.

Final estimation:
Our final estimation our groups came up with is 25.9 ft. because from using the tool it was most easy to calculate the estimated height.

Problem Evaluation:
I some what liked this problem because of the steps it took, like there was more to it than any other problems, with all the different methods i tough that made it cool. like you had multiple ways of solving the problems with different methods.
Somewhere my thinking got really push was in the last method because i was able to understand it more than any other of the methods and so i put more time into the method and trying to work with it to find the estimated length. and actually it was way more easier that method. Some thing i feel i got the most out of is the tests, even tough i dint get the test score i was hoping fore but i was able to do test revisions and i got to actually learned how to do some of the problems.

Self Evaluation:
If i was to receive i grade for this unit i would probably give my self a solid A. I choose an A because i tried really hard i gave all of t=my trying to every single part of the unit and i also tried super hard on the test revisions to do everything possible to get a good grade.
