Australia: Australia is a country and continent surrounded by the Indian and Pacific oceans. The major cities are Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Adelaide. Australia carries a government based on democratic governance of a state where the executive branch derives its democratic legitimacy from its ability to command the confidence of the legislative branch. Australia also has a federation of states with a single monarch as over-all head of the federation, but retaining different monarchs, or a non-monarchical system of government, in the various states joined to the federation Australia does not want refugees because the journey the asylum seekers make is dangerous and they are controlled by criminal gangs, which can affect them and they have a duty to stop it.
Position Paper: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1afJG_wRAqK84QuS6VxOrphUOGpS6LjJMShy8ESiLfSk/edit some thing i changed in my position paper was the structure the way i chose to start writing and the ideas of what to write about. The best pieces of feedback i got were from and peer and an academic coach. My peer was talked more about the crisis and mention syria which before i wasn't really doing because i was talking about other crisis around the world too. and i wasn't really mentioning Syria anywhere i was just jumping straight to the refugee crisis. The feedback i got from the academic coach was basically just go back and re read to find spelling error or grammatical error like capital letter commas or periods. I really improved my piece just by actually doing every single thing i got from my peers, by fixing every piece of feedback i had.
UN Conference: I am most proud of growing in the debate. Debate has never really been my strong suit and when it comes to talking in front of people hooo no i am the worst.I am not one to voice my opinion and would consider myself shy, In this debate I really learned the value of research and how important it is to be prepared myself to talk in front of others honestly i felt like i did okay when i had or when i spoke i front of people.
Introduction To The Project: For the Model United Nations project we pretended to be a nation for a conference that had a duration of 2 days which talked about the Syrian Refugee Crisis. During this project we learned about the workings of the UN and global issues, and what our countries stood on the issue. I got committee 5 and I had the opportunity to represent Australia.
link to the most useful article you found about your country: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-28189608 One thing that made this article so usefull to me is all the information it gave me on the crisis and it was real good information because it had exact dates and facts which include numbers of for example refugees coming to australia and number of them being accepted. The way i found this article was by struggling to find information on a question that we had to answer on our mun delegate packet. The most useful and interesting piece of info i got from this article was where it talked about why australia is not accepting refugees. 'They say the journey the asylum seekers make is dangerous and controlled by criminal gangs, and they have a duty to stop it".
Opening Statement: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1HkJFUHRgoUQ9Ss_vMOG6yMfyF9R88wCAHRWVJnjR9Lk/edit For my opening statement i don't really changed anything i just left it how i finished it because i thought it was good and i shared what i needed. I did not get any feedback on this and if i were to do it again i would change everything because i did all of it wrong i thought that my country was helping them but they weren't they had different thoughts and so because of that i got a really bad grade on this project. at the end i had to re do my speech because i don't like it and i couldn't get any credit anyway.
