One of the most significant challenges I've have faced was definitely English and understanding the language and the classes. Some of the steps I took to overcome this challenge was by actually always asking a lot of questions, watching tv in English and talking to my friends and other people in English even though I knew my English sucked.
The way that this challenge was affecting my academic achievements was by not being able to understand anything that we were learning and so it was hard for me to complete any of the work that had to be done and homework as well which lead back to having bad grades.
Now that I had briefly explained to young=guys that my greatest challenge I've faced in my academic life I now want to give you an example of when this most affected me and what I did to overcome this problem, I'll try to tell it as a story to be able to have a better rhythm when telling it.
I feel like a moment I've have stayed with a problem till it was resolved for the most amount of time is the way I used to speak english, I remember in middle school my first couple of weeks there where a bit rough because I wasn't able to have good communication with my peers and with my teachers, I also didn't really liked to participate that much in conversation and or discussion because of the fact that I was afraid that I would say something wrong and therefore I would have people making fun of me and bugging me, I kinda did this for a while because of fear that towards the third week I thought about it and it got to me that if I kept doing the same thing I would never be able to progress and so I did start to get a little bit more involved in conversations and discussions and what I feared the most actually started to happen a few people made fun of me because of the way said some things at first it was a bit frustrating but as they kept doing it I don't let it get to me that much and I just kept doing that same thing and when I least expected it I was able to speak english way better than how I started because I started with a 1 out of 10 and back than after doing what was best for me I was at about 6 out of 10 which was really good in my opinion because I came from speaking zero english to having a basic conversation with someone. And know in high school I feel that the fact that I tried to help me a lot and I am at an 8 out of 10. This is one of the most difficult things that I have carried with me but I was able to resolve this problem with time.
